Will the digital SLR camera ever go down espically the Nikon D50? |
Will the digital SLR camera ever go down espically the Nikon D50? Not likely...maybe 10%...Digital SLRs keep their value pretty well...Just bought a Canon 30D for 1600, and the lowest I have seen it for is around 1500.00. And 20Ds are selling for about 80% of what people bought them for 3 years ago. Look at it like this...It is a good investment... That is probably the one constant in the digital camera world. Wait until Canon comes out with a cheaper camera with more features and better specs for less and Nikon will have no choice but to either drop the price or stop making the camera. That is what has happened to every camera that either company has made to date. Right now Canon has the lead and Nikon is following. They have to drop their price to compete with the Canon EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT), Pentax *ist DS and Olympus E-300, as the price for these have dropped. Both the Canon and Olympus have better specs than the D50. I don't think they will anytime in the near future. They are great cameras with lots of flexibility. You can buy lenses and other accessories to accompany them and take great pictures for several years to come.. Amazon.com is selling the Canon Rebel XT right now for about $150 off. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007QK... Oh, the million $ question. |
