What is the difference between a Digital Camera & SLR Camera?? |
What is the difference between a Digital Camera & SLR Camera?? SLR is Single Lens Reflex as the others have already mentioned. The image that you see from the viewfinder is captured from the main lens and reflected onto the viewfinder with an intricate arrangement of mirrors (or prisms). When you click the shutter, the mirror moves out of the way and the image is imposed on the CCD sensor. What that effectively means is that you see EXACTLY THE SAME IMAGE from the viewfinder as is captured on the CCD. That helps, doesn't it? SLR's have more connectivity EG lenses, Filters. They produce better quality images. Usually have higher megapixels. Are way more expensive! SLR stands for Single lens Reflex, a term used when a camera has a mirror that allows you to see directly through the same lens that projects the image on the sensor or film, and then moves out of the way so the image can be saved to the film or memory. Cheaper digital cameras have a separate viewfinder and approximate what the image will be. SLR is Single Lens Reflex the digital records the photograph on a chip, electronically, while the film type SLR records the photograph on film. They make digital SLRs now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_sin... SLRs are more versatile with more accessories and its usually used by profesional (there are digital SLRs anf Film SLRs) |
