Nikon D200 what do you think?

what do you think of the nikon D200 and just out of interest what is the best and affordable pro Slr camera

The D200 is an excellent prosumer camera although alot of professionals use it for events, weddings and so on. I wouldn't use it for studio.

A great camera for weddings is the Fuji S5 because of it's unbelievable dynamic range.

So you see, it depends. What do you want to use your camera for?

ADDED: Things you may want to consider when buying a DSLR:

Sensor Size 鈥?Generally, bigger is better (less noise)
Sensor Type - CMOS vs CCD
Dynamic Range 鈥?Large Dynamic Range gives better shadow & highlight detail
Colour (or Bit) depth 鈥?At least 12 bits per channel
Resolution 鈥?(Usually a trade off with speed between exposures) The higher the resolution, the bigger print sizes you can produce.
File formats 鈥?Are you going to shoot RAW for example
Sensor Sensitivity - How good is your camera in low light conditions?
Buffering 鈥?Important if you鈥檙e going to shoot sports or fashion.

I鈥檓 sure there鈥檚 a whole lot of others. Check the internet for more info and for reviews on particular cameras.

The D200 is an excellent camera. I personally like the Canon EOS 30D the best. They both take great pictures and at a good rate too.

I think it takes the same pics as the much cheaper D80, and has been replaced by the D300.

The D300 is probably the best buy, but only because of its high ISO performance.
