Reg slr lenses & digital cameras? |
I have an Olympus OMG - with a macro, a zoom and the standard lens - I want to go digital - was looking at Olympus bodies - but do the regular lenses work ok with the digital cameras? I mostly do macro shots - flowers, bugs, etc but also need to do close up of small pieces of art (2x3") that I want to put online - and want to be able to have poster size prints made of some things. I should also note: I live on an extremely limited income and will be borrowing some $ to be able to do this - I know I can use an adapter ring to use them on the digital camera - just wondering if anyone had actually done this and what the quality of the results were? Unfortunately Olympus completely redesigned their camera system for their new DSLRs to use the smaller Panasonic four thirds sensor. Take your lenses into a camera store that sells Olympus DSLR's and have them check it out for you. If your lenses are manual, and they fit, you should be able to use them, including the meter, but of course you will have to manually focus them ... like you are used to doing. The Olympus film lenses will work as manual focus lenses with a $20.00 adapter. You can get it at most stores and at ebay. The new digital lenses were designed to offer great quality. A kit lens would probably surprise you. |
