Help picking a new camera!! (Digital SLR)?

I am looking for a high speed digital camera wit a manual focus.
What i would like to know is how to reed the specs.
<><><>What is better, and why??<><><>
Exposure: one i am looking at is 卤2 Stops in 1/3 Incraments,
The other is: 卤5 Stops in 1/3 Incraments
Memory: CompactFlash Card & xD-Picture Card
and what is a good fps?? is 3fps good
Also i am only looking at cameras with 10 Mega Pixels or more...

Go to a good camera shop and try out the two you are considering. You need to hold them in your hands and see how they feel to you, and how easy it is to use the controls. They will have both automatic and manual controls. Automatic is great till you learn the camera and can go on to manual. Ask the sales person any questions you have. They are trained to answer them.

I have a Canon Rebel XTi, and it uses CF cards. It has 10 MPs. I am very satisfied with it!

Whatever camera you choose, read the instruction book over and over and practice with the camera as you are reading it. Then keep the book in your camera bag so you will have it handy if you need it.

Have fun!

For exposure, the amount of stops pretty much show how far you can adjust the brightness and darkness of photos, and 1/2 or 1/3 increments how accurately you can set your exposure.

For the memory, the xD picture card is very small, and usually with less memory. the CompactFlash, or CF card is very popular and can hold tons of memory cheaply. I would recommend CF.

If you are shooting sports, you should probably look to up to 5 fps with a fast buffer. Having a fast buffer means that you can take 5 pictures a second for many seconds. (basically how fast the camera can process the image and put it into the memory)

Some good cameras you should look at are:

Nikon D60, D40x

Canon Xti, Xsi and 40d

These are very solid cameras with at least 10 megapixels each.
