I wanna Know I'm going to buy a Digital SLR Camera 8.0MP Should I buy CANNON or NIKON?

My Budget is around $630

Ah... you asked that question!!!!!

Prepare for a fight :)

There's a big Canon vs. Nikon war going on in photography world. Most people who use their Canons will say they're the best, while Nikon users will claim that nothing beats the Nikon. In fact Canons and Nikons are both amazing cameras, and you can get either with a decent starter lens for the money you have.

I will deliberately not state which camera I use, to avoid putting a bias on this answer (though I do have a feeling that the brand I use is better than the other).

Go here:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews

Read all the info about the cameras you consider (and given your budget that pretty much means either Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon D40). See if there's anything that strikes you as a future user of the camera as a pro or con you can or can't live without. Maybe you'll find something that one of these has and the other don't, which will make you decide...

And last but not least - go to a local camera store and hold both in your hands. See if handling one feels better for you than the other.

And then you'll be able to make an informed decision....

Good luck!
LEM.

In SLR, I like Canon better. I have both, and use canon 90% of the time. Quality of pictures and ease of use are my main criterias.

Nikon doesn't produce 8mp DSLRs, and the latest one Canon produced is 2-3 years old.
Most of the DSLRs nowadays are 10mp and up.

I personally use a Nikon D40 6mp DSLR, and tend to like Nikon better(probably because I invested about $400 in Nikon lenses)

Without knowing your budget I can't recommend a camera for you, but keep in mind that in DLSR, lenses are more important than camera body, and that once you stick with a brands, you will have to stick all the way, like I have with Nikon because these lenses are not interchangeable between lenses and quite expensive,in some cases many times more than the body itself. However, you can of course sell your whole system and start over.

Both are very nice, but both nikon uses a proprietary lens, they are very nice lenses, but it is easier to find canon lenses, and usually at a better price

Recommend Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens (Black) It's only $579.99 here

Flash photography, Nikon. Action and sports, Canon. Some things to consider before choosing. Both brands will give you great photos if you do our part using the better lens for the brand.
