Should I go for Fuji S5700 for zoom or Nikon D40 for SLR quality? |
Both seem to be good cameras but have different uses. I do like to take close up and long distance shots but wouldn't be able to buy an equivalant zoom for some time on the D40, the S5700 or in fact S5800 are available for under 拢110 and the D40 is available for 拢276 which is good value for money. I realise that they are two different lots of requirements but I want relatively good quality and multiple different functions (I currently have cybershot so I realise any of the above will be an improvement!). Just to say the D40 is being sold on amazon and there seemed to be no great complaints about it. IMO you are comparing apples to oranges. First of all A DSLR has a sensor about 15 times larger then a P&S camera or SLR (like). go for Canon EOS400 /Rebel Xti instead. Not all that much more than a D40 but with far higher resolution. All supplied lenses with these kits are pretty crap, nikon lens at this price no better or worse than any others. If you must buy nikon then look at the D40x instead. Canon 400 is better and cheaper. personally i would always choose the Nikon! D40. You can always add a mega-zoom lens at a later date. Nikon....Hands down the best choice |
