Which camera would you buy?

which camera would you buy? i wanna spend no more than $500 and i want that it has movie mode too. i dont like the simple ones, i wish i could change the lenses, like on a professional one or something similar... now the difference between usual ones and the SLR ones?

DSLR cameras are base upon the design of a 35mm SLR .. they produce much better images (their sensors are over 15 times larger than a P&S camera), but because they are built on the design of a professional camera, video is not an option .. still shooters go to totally different schools and use different techniques for all their work from video and film (motion picture) photographers.

The good news is for under $500 you can buy an entry level Nikon DSLR with a 18-55mm lens. With this camera, you can add to your camera system with lenses from fisheye to super telephoto lenses and all those inbetween.

You can also buy a decent video camera for under $500, but it is a video camera and will not produce professional quality still images.

I take it that you want a digital camera. I have a film SLR and I love the ability to change the lens, but because of its size and value, I rarely take with me when I travel.

There are some excellent compact digital cameras that have zoom capabilities like an SLR, but are not as bulky. Check out the new Canon Power Shot SD 1100 which runs about $250. This will leave you $ to buy a photo-quality printer.
