How to make pictures smaller on your computer?

I download pictures from my digital camera and they are usually over 1 MB I know there is a way to make them smaller but I dont have that much time to look it up. I need to know how to make them smaller without croping or changing the appearence of the picture in any way. Thanks in advance...

Paint is on most Windows computers with Microsoft software in the Accessories programs section.
- Open Paint, then open the image file from within Paint.
- Click on the Image Menu and choose "Attributes."
- Adjust the pixel width and length. OR use "stretch and skew" and just reduce the percentage.
- Save as a JPEG.

OR if you don't want to change the image's dimensions, then change the quality. When you SAVE AS a JPEG, a window gives you options regarding lowering quality. You can test it out and see if it will help with the file size.

Trial and error will be necessary to figure out how to get it under 1MB without sacrificing NOTICEABLE quality.

Convert them to jpeg, using paint

If you have Adobe Photoshop on your computer, there's a really simple way to change the size of your photos. I'm not really computer savvy either but I figured this out on my own -- that's how easy it is! Open Photoshop. Go to File, then Open. Find and open the picture you want to make smaller. Once that picture is open, go to Image, then Image Size. Then just play around with the dimensions (width and height), making the number in the box smaller than what is already there. Note: If you just play around with the width, the height will automatically adjust to the appropriate measure. Then save it back to your computer and you have the same picture, just smaller!
