I purchased a cheapo, but good, digital camera. I'd like to take picutures of monarche butterfly coccoons but the camera doesn't seem to be able to focus at close range. Is it a button I am missing on this camera, or do you think it just doesn't have this feature. The camera was under $100. It takes good pictures of people and other things, just not small detail closeups. Hi.
Camera's within this price range usually don't have close-up features, or at least not very good ones. I just checked out the features of your camera on the net and I don't see anything that indicates it has a close-up feature.
Check the front of the lens. Does it have threading along the inside edge? They usually do for filters. Sometimes you can buy adapters that will allow you to make close-ups.
Another alternative is to get to know your camera. You can test the limits of the camera yourself so that you can work within its limits. Use a ruled out length, place a reasonable sized object withing the measurement and snap away at different camera placements. Since it is digital, you'll be able to see the results immediately. Make 8 x 10s and evaluate its workable close-up range. Learn this range and use it often!
Have fun. Photography can be exciting and creative at the same time. Set it on Machro. The symbol will be a flower (tulip with leaves). |
