I understand the concept of DPI when printing an image... i.e. the smaller the print, the more dpi... However, I need to email a digital picture at 200 dpi. But, in properties it shows it having a dpi of 96. What is the difference between print DPI and screen DPI. THe camera, with 7.0 megapixels, was set at the highest resolution. Any help sorting this out and if it's possible to change dpi would be much appreciated. You computer monitor's resolution is less than 200 DPI (somewhere around 90 - 110 DPI), so I am guessing this is for a print.
Go to the folder that has the picture you want to send in it and click on the image. In the status bar (gray bar at the bottom of explorer) there should be some text, some of which should be the dimensions of the image. Take the smaller of the numbers and divide by the number by 200; if the number you get is larger than the number of inches you want the small side of your print to be then the image is large enough.
