Amsterdam to paris.. best way to travel?

travelling tues january 16 from amsterdam to paris. want to find best way to travel.. speed, $$$, etc. i have a backpack and a small suitcase... w/ an expensive laptop/digital camera. not too worried about getting robbed, i don't look like i have a ton of money and i don't flaunt things.

i'm only travelling that one day and have flights the rest of my trip. i can't find a one day eurorail pass

Never taken the train but Amsterdams' Schipol (sp??) airport is very close by train to central Amsterdam so a flight might be really easy to grab instead of a long train ride.

Eurorail is the best way to go,.

Lots of commuters on that train route. Very comfortable and affordable.

Ticket buying procedure is the same as from SNCF. A lot of different prices for the same seats, so buy early to get the cheapest fare.

It seems that people all around the world love to offer suggestions, and if you take the time you can save alot of $$$. Especially if you travel like the locals!

hope this comes in time for you but usually you can just take the thalys, you have to book in advance else you have to pay a little extra, they have tickets from 65 euro's and it's the fast train, takes you there in about6 hrs i believe, been a while since i took that train to paris.

go to, www.ns.nl and hit international in the upper right corner they also have a link for english
else go to the train station and ask them at the ticket desk

Take the train.

They leave for example at following times:

dep 10:26 Amsterdam Centraal
arr 16:02 Paris Nord

dep 11:26 Amsterdam Centraal
arr 16:05 Paris Nord

dep 12:56 Amsterdam Centraal
arr 17:05 Paris Nord

dep 13:26 Amsterdam Centraal
arr 18:05 Paris Nord

and almost every hour after that.

Price is around 100 euros (2nd class ticket).
