Making photo files smaller? |
I am needing to make my pictures from my digital camera smaller files....how do i do this?? Get the Microsoft tool, Picture Resizer. Select the pictures you want to shrink (in file size or resolution, or both) - and right-click, and select, "Resize Pictures". A dialog will appear. If you simpy want to make the file sizes smaller, click the advanced tab, and punch in the exact dimensions of the current images (which, if take from the same camera should mostly be the same). They will still "resize", but if you put in the same dimensions, they won't get any smaller or larger obviously. However, this process will run them through the standard Windows JPEG compression, shrinking the file-sizes by roughly 70%. Open them in any editor (such as Paint), then just resize them, and save them as a JPEG. U can use paint resize options ... There are two ways: download a picture resizer powertoy from microsoft, if your using windows XP. It's really easy to use, just select your picture or multiple pictures then, right click>resize. See if you can export the file as a jpg. When I download pictures from my camera, I right-click the picture and "export as." You need photoshop or other photo editing software. Open your pic file and then go to the edit tab and resize. Save with a new file name and then you can upload into another program with the new size. photoshop |
