I understand the "nightshot" function and how Sony has mostly disabled it. I also understand that you can use seperate IR filters & ND filters to obtain correct exposure in daylight (basically to "customize" the light to fit the set EV). What I need is a step-by-step guide to using this particular camera to shoot infrared photos both in daylight (sunny) conditions as well as indoor conditions. For instance, with the filter(s) in place, does the nightshot function need to be on or off? With nightshot on, Is the camera locked into the f2.0 / 1/30 mode, or does the filter combo allow it to be manipulated (smaller aperture - longer shutter speeds). What about ISO settings, and does the IR emitter (on the pop-up flash) have to stay up? I just need a comprehensive step-by-step "how-to" guide for the f828. I've looked everywhere, and can't find one. Thanks in advance!! You want the nightshot on. A GTS2 1000nm Infrared Filter is the kind you want. These cameras are not designed to see infared, so added a ND filter might help you get the correct exposure. |
