What digital camera do you suggest??

I am trying to buy a new camera but theres so many out there its hard to figure out which is a good buy. Im looking for good zoom, clear pictures, small and compact. Im willing to spend $250. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

In your price range, looking for a nice, "small and compact" camera, I'd suggest that you look at the Canon Powershot SD1000, which replaces the well-respected SD600.

The best thing to do is research.

Look at all the cameras out there and what features they have a what price and then after you have narrowed your search down to five or six brands or models, to into a camera store and actually see what they feel like in your hands and how easily you can use the menu when setting up your shots.

Take a look at the link below and then have some fun. Disregard digital zoom ... it is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Look for a camera that uses SD memory cards ... they are the mainstream memory cards at this time.

If you are looking for a camera with good zoom, try out the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 with 7.2 mega pixel and 10 optical zoom. It has a 3" viewer and 28 mm wide angle. PC Magazine highly recommends it as being up close to the SLR cameras which are more professional. It sells for less than $287 on line. You will get good zoom, clear pictures and yet it is small and compact. It feels good to handle. It will be well worth $37.00 more than you plan to spend. Digital cameras are bad about making blurry pictures when you try to zoom in, but this camera does a great job. You would be wise to go to a good camera shop like Wolf Camera to check out the different models. They will make pics and develop them for you to compare. If you purchase from them, they will give you lessons, but you will pay more for your camera. It's worth the difference to me just to see what kind of pictures that I can expect from my camera before I invest in it and to have lessons to teach me how to get the most from my camera.
