Small Point and Shoot?

My friends birthday is coming up soon and she said she would like a point and shoot type digital camera. Something small enough to carry around in your pocket, and very simple, auto focus and all of that stuff. She just wants to be able to bust out the camera, snap a shot and be on with her life!

Most of the pictures she is going to take will probably be of friends and partys and whatnot, just casual teenager type stuff.

Anyway, I don't know crap about cameras so I figured this would be the best place to get advice. I don't have very much money to spend, 100 bucks or so.

go with canon, thats what i have, try the canon powershot a530, i was just on circuit city,s web page, and they sell it for $99..

That's a toughie. For 100 bucks, you won't get anything special. In my opinion, for the money, Canon has some nice cheap cameras such as the A460. That's slightly more than a hundred, but really, you can't get much for that money. If you're willing to throw in the money, you'll probably want optical image stablization for helping you take pictures in low light.

Errr... for $100 your not going to find anything good.....

I agree with the answers above me, but you MIGHT get lucky and still find a Canon A540 closing out at under $150.

You might also find a Fuji Finepix F20 for under $150.
