I sort of wanted to get a camcorder, but I love to take still pictures, too! The still photo quality on most of the camcorders I'm looking at sucks though... like usually under 1 megapixel. Yuck. Any camcorders you know of that have good still photo capability?
It'd still be good if I just got a normal digital camera if there aren't any camcorders under like $1000 or something that have good photo quality. So a camera with really good video recording options?
Hopefully something that is on the smaller, more compact side if possible..
Tell me if you know of anything! I looked for the same thing. I wasn't happy until I got a decent camcorder and a separate digital camera. Take advantage of sales to snag a decent digital camera (5MP or more) for under $100. I got a DXG 5.1MP for only $90. Then buy a Sony Handycam DCR-HC21 for only $253. That is within your budget. The DCR-HC21 is an entry level camcorder but the quality is far beyond what you would get from a video feature on a digital camera.
