Hey, I want to buy a new digital camera but i don't know what one to get, bizrate and sites like that confuse me, so I want to ask actual people for help... haha
ok I need it to be thin and small and styleinsh, take good quality pictures, be easy to use, be under 300 dollars, have a timer thing and a video mode, take action shots, and whatever other good stuff digital cameras have...also what photo editing program should I buy. I want a cheaper one ($30 or less) that can do all the basic stuff (crop, rotate, blah blah) but can also change the lighting effects, change the focus, distort the color add different screens, clogne, special effects... thanks a millon
xoxo Software download Picasa2 (Free) from Google. and buy this
camera.. you'll do great with this combo!!!!
The best camera for under $200 is the Canon A550
* 7.1 Megapixel
*4X Optical Zoom
* Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light)
* Well built for the price
* Very good performance
* LCD visible in low light
* Some manual controls
* AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
* Good movie and continuous shooting modes
* Impressive software bundle
* Uses AA batteries; great battery life
* USB 2.0 High Speed support I've just bought this one, the SONY Cybershot DSC-W55B it also has other 3 color options and does everything you want, also it includes software to manage yopur pics, you can adit them with Microsoft Office Picture Manager (if you have Microsoft Office) check the site and buy it! I think you don't need anymore than this camera has. ; ) Good Luck. just bought an Olympus FE-240 - fantastic quality pics, and the slimmest size, even fits in a tiny zipped coin-purse!!
has a movie mode as well as some others and is sooo easy to use. nice big screen on the back and comes with software for editing your pics
treat yourself!! If you can still find one, I think the COOLEST small camera is the Canon Powershot SD700-IS. It has 4X optical zoom (35-140 mm), image stabilization and 6 MP. I bought one for my daughter's birthday and I played around with it for a couple of days before I gave it to her. I was going to get this model for myself, but it was simply sold out everywhere for a couple of months when I was ready to buy. Maybe I should have waited...
I did a series of side-by-side tests to compare the SD700-IS and the SD900, just to see if I was still happy with my camera. The SD700-IS compares very favorably. Personally, I chose the SD900 images, but another "top contributor" here prefered the SD700-IS images. I found that I could use the "Vivid Colors" setting in the SD900 to get the "snap" that he liked better in the SD700-IS.

It costs $300, has good zoom range and the image stabilization to go with it. It's SMALL and good looking. Great LCD and it still has an optical viewfinder.

(In Europe, this same camera is known as the IXUS 800 IS, so don't let the label on the camera confuse you. This is NOT the SD800-IS, which is known in Europe as the IXUS 850 IS.)
If you can't find this camera or it costs too much (You DO have to get a decent memory card for $25-30...), look for the new SD1000 or SD750.
