Wouldn't it make more sense to spend the Trillion $$ we're now spending in Iraq and Afgan to build up a qualified Police Force here to combat crime?
Buy updated equipment and put surveillance cameras on high-crime streets? London has a lot of cameras and it seems to help their Bobbies.

Chicago put cameras up as well, crime did not stop. Cameras are basically a waste of money given to some connected contractor.

All squad cars should have cameras though.

--Here is the truth, police don't stop crime, they help punish people. The only way to stop crime is by giving people other sources of income. Since our politicians are for free trade, that ain't going to happen.

Hell yeah their underpaid. Think about it for the most part they have to deal with the scum of the earth. Would you want to go into someones house who is on meth and beating the wife and kids. Or pull someone over you don't know and walk into something bad.

Law Enforcement is severely underpaid. You'll probably get some "cop haters" on here saying God knows what, but the truth of the matter is there are many good police officers that put themselves in harms way everyday for less than your local butcher.
