How long do you think a person who is caught on tape trying to hire a hitman should go to jail?

It amazes me that the punishment for it in most of the cases on "hidden camera shows" is only 3 to 5 years in jail or a few years probation.

Does this seem a little lenient to anyone, especially for a crime caught on tape?

Does it seem a bit strange that the punishment for the crime is so small just because the person failed to find a *real* hitman and *actually* carry out a murder?

Ok, one of them was an old lady who was trying to kill her grandchildren, and another was a woman who wanted her son's daughters killed so that they wouldn't testify against him for molesting them. Yeah, some real gems.

i saw that the other day when the lady paid the "cop" 2 thousand dollars and said that she spends that much on a new purse! she only got 5 years! that was a bunch of B.S!

alot more but entrapment is fine line. If the "hitman" suggests in anyway that they are willingly to do it withy a specific request its invalid. U also have to show that the defendent was actually trying to arange a killin not blowimg off steam

3-5 is way too less unless its exteniating circumstances like the target raped them or killed their kid in which case no time should be given

I just watched a snow on cable about a woman who tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband. She was given life without parole. This was in the south, but I don't remember which state, I guess it just matters which state you are in, but no that is not a fair sentence for this type of crime!

well its not like they're gonna try it after they get out or they will obviously know who it was....
