Lost Turkey? |
Today I saw a big turkey with about ten small ones. So I grabbed my camera and when after them. All of the small ones spread out, Now I feel bad now because they lost the big one and might not find the big one. So do you think the small ones will survive and find the big one or did I screw them over? you big fat jerk! you just might,possibul have killed a nice family of turkeys! i hope youre happy with the picture you tock. no just kidding. they might not beabul to find the big one but well probly go to a diffrent family.if they can find one.so i doubt they well sorvive. thank you for killing a nice family of turkeys. I have raised a lot of game birds. (turkeys, pheasants, quail, even chickens) They all do that sort of thing, splitting up to avoid danger. The mother waits until all is clear, then calls the babies to her. No worries! You didn't harm them at all. Next time, move more slowly, stay back just a bit farther and hope for a good photo! Scattering is a normal reaction to avoid a predator. The predator can't chase them all in different directions. If they stay together it could catch several birds. As soon as you were gone mom called them back together. EDIT i***ts almost always have their e-mail turned off. It's disgusting. Chocolate lover should stick to eating candy. don't worry about it! they are very smart and once they realize the coast is clear they will regroup. i'm sure they're fine =] Wild turkeys are smarter than people think. They will all find each other. Because of you they will never find their mother. I hope you are happy. |

That was most likely the mother turkey with her chicks. She got scared, but she'll settle down and gather her chicks again. Hopefully, none of them are killed by predators in the meantime. ...
