ok next year im going to high school. woohoo =]
but you see i want to go to a high school out of my district, page, were districted for northwest. the only person i know well that is going to my districted school is my neighbor. we both really want to go page, which is out of our district. we seriously know no one going there. we carpool now, and we would to page too. my parents and her parents both work and the hospital which is just down the road from the school. we would also be taking ap classes and classes that they dont offer at northwest, like japanese, or photography. both of us would participate in alot of sports there, soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc. ok so what we would do, is talk to the school board, and we would make these points,
-we dont know anyone in our district school, all of our friends are going to page.
-transportation would be simple, we would carpool, and our parents would drop us off on their way to work, no hassle at all
-we would take advanced classes, and other classes they do not offer at our school.
-we would also participate in many sports there.
i know there are more reasons, and i dont really know any specifics on how to set up a meeting with the school board. and are these valid reasons? any other things that would allow us to go to a non district school?
please helpppp You have an excellent reason that the school MIGHT accept. Th reason is that you want to take subjects that are not given at your own district school.
You should try, but be prepared for a negative answer. Your parents do not pay school taxes for the school in tech other district. That means that the residents of that school district in effect would have to pay for you and your friend.
If the answer is no are your parents willing to pay the tuition costs for you to attend the other school? Don't bring that up until or unless you have received a definite no. talk to your guidance conceler at schoool
that will help alot! Sweetheart, you don't need ANY reasons to go to a school that is out of district. Just $$$$$.
Your parents have to go and enroll you and pay the school tax for that school district.
Our daughters is $500 this year. When I was in HS I was in the same situation. My parents went to the school board and asked if I could be re-assigned. They had some paper work to fill out, but if you have legitimate reasons, (high test scores, transportation, etc.) it shouldn't be too difficult to get you re-assigned. I wouldn't complain about not knowing anybody though... meeting new people is part of life. |
