Sony cyber shot???

thanks guys for all the info on the canon.I know im getting on peopls nerves..sorry.last question!I was thinking about taking it back because i cant afford the lense.A friend of mine does photography he said that the sony cyber shot dsc h7 is just as good! Will it take good fast pics? But not blurry???
h7 or h9??I mainly want it for sports.

Sony is no comparison to Canon, go get your Canon back. Canon has an 18-55mm lens thats under $100.00, tho not a very good lens, its a start til you can move to a better lens. Even though Sony boasts the zeiss lenses, keep in mind that they are not the same zeiss lenses and not nearly as good as the ones that are German made. If they were German lenses, you would not be able to afford them. Also German Zeiss has never made an auto focus lens. Thats why Zeiss & Hassleblad had to part paths, Hassleblad wanted to go Autofocus & German Zeiss did not.

Check out the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ series of cameras, they have a Leica lens (f2.8 23-490mm equivalent) 12x zoom. Full manual controls, and RAW.... It's much faster than the Sony, and IMO a better camera, the Leica lens is fantastic. The only drawback with any of the "advanced digital" cameras, such as the Panasonic, Sony, Fuji, Canon powershow pros, are they are a little slow in framing when shooting sequentially.

I have the Panasonic as a carry around camera, for when I don't want to lug the heavier gear, it's a great little camera...

I'd suggest you go to dpreview.com and compare the advanced digital side by side, and see which features suit you. Read their reviews.. and go to a camera store, (not best buy or walmart) and try out the cameras in the store, see which fits you best...
