What should I do about business companies?

I have a photography business and I'm looking to start another buisness that is sport related and I want to add photography in it. Should I add my company services and charge through the new company or get rid of my photography business and start over? Will this be an advantage or disadvantage when I do the taxes?

Nancy- yes please if you can give me as much information as possible. My photography business is an S Corp and I'm thinking about adding the new one as an S Corp or an LLC.
My photography business is mostly seasonal work, but I want to add sports because I'm trying to combine my degrees with social work and sport administration. Photography would be an added bonus and service to the families.
To give you a backgrounds it's helping kids who are underexposed with the recruiting process and helping them with the distrubution of their profile and highlights to college athletic departments. We are writing the business after the new year.

In my opinion, this would depend on the form of company you current photography business is. If you are doing business as an individual and report taxes on schedule C then it doesn't really matter as far as taxes. Having one or two company have no impact on your taxes, maybe just extra business license charge depend on your city and state regulation. However, if you form two corporations, you might have more tax breaks but then you will have corporation fee again depends on the city and state regulation. Last time I check, corporate pay only 15% taxes is it earn less than $50,000 a year. You might need to double check with IRS. Hope this would help!
