I am an active duty soldier stationed in S Korea. Iam trying to decide on what program/degree is best for me. However my options are limited. I took a TABE test, I have a 6th grade math level in reading...sometimes I think comprehending as well. I'am currently a combat photographer...I have my MOS only because of prior experience. My learning ability is limited that means my options for degrees/programs are limited. I went to a counselor he suggested, psychology, sociology, sports therapy, police work, histrory.... My interest is photography, psychology, or sociology. But I'm willing to listen to ideas. I was wondering how far a BAA (in my case) will get me, what can I do with this degree? I can pursue anything higher then a BA.
Some states allow a Bachelors degree in a human services field such as Psychology and Sociology for entry level employment in case management services such as a probation officer, juvenial deliquency case manager, family services/child protection worker, disability services case manager, etc. If you gain certification, you can also teach Psychology at the High School Level. You could work as a Psychiatric Technician (nurses' aid) at a Psychiatric hospital, oversee research subjects in the private/government sector (e.g., in drug trials). Police work is also an option, as well as furthering your education to the graduate level for a career in private practice.
Sounds like you are already a skilled photographer, why not stay in that field if you enjoy it -- crime scene photography, private studio, employment with Olan Mills or the like? |
