Is there any special name for the cameras used by these wildlife photographer? |
cameras with long lens for wildlife photography or even sport. Well, my father was a wildlife photographer and he used a Minolta 800i 35mm camera when he was out there taking his photos. Some of his photos have appeared on the cover of wildlife magazines, one in particular was a prairie dog that looked as if he was right there beside it when he took the pic. He was actually about 100 feet away! You're sure to get many suggestions, and I'll let you know right away that the Minolta 800i is a very expensive camera. Usually the camera is a professional model, and it depends on what kind of film it uses as to the name. 35mm, Medium format, or large. The type of camera is called an SLR (Single-Lens Reflex). The greatest advantage this type of camera has is that the picture you take will be exactly (or as close as possible) what you see through the lens.
