What's the best way to apply for a teaching job in a private high school? |
I've taught English and writing in a four-year university for five years, but it's a tech-oriented school, and the admin cares so little about humanities, we don't even have a copy machine. I want to apply to a private high school with high academic standards. What do I do? (I have a Ph.D. and I'm a published writer). I can also do extra-curricular stuff ranging from sports coaching to photography if need be. i would write a letter to the school, and send them your c/v,and say you would be interesed in teaching there if a post becomes available.and you never know.and good luck Be sure you have a K-12 certification. Call the HR offices and ask them to send you an application. Then, send them a resume packet with: resume, cover letter, letters of recommendation, copy of certification. It seems like you're a highly qualified candidate. They'll snap you right up. :) Here's an ebook about finding teaching jobs that may help you: http://www.iwantateachingjob.com... Best of luck to you! |
