Is it bad that i dont do sports? |
my friends and family havent said anything to me, but i think they might be thinking im lazy because dont do sports. I'm active though, i walk home from school every day, do the occasioanl sit-ups and push ups, i also dance(not professionally or anything just like for fun) and i take PE in school, but sometimes i feel like i dont do enough activities in general, not just active activities, but i write short stories, make clothing, make movies, occasionally paint, and i also like photography, why do i feel like im going no where? If you want to do sports, do it. I was big into sports when younger. Went to state competition even. It is not all it is cracked up to be. School sports is full of political nonsense. If you want to do something for yourself take up something like horseback riding (you can take your writing and camera with you). Or hiking where you can find spots to sit and write or things to take photo's of. When you are at your high paying mind job you can look down at those who looked down on you for not doing sports so much. People do not get scholarships to college like people think. Very few kids get these. If you want to meet people sports is a good way to do this. It is not that big of deal..... Making movies takes activity, photography does too. Make yourself happy do not worry about what others are thinking, sounds like you have a big enough mind to keep up with. nah. sports suck anyways ???!!! I hate sports, don't understand and I don't want to play them,so we're on the same page. And no its not bad.its great,we don't have to be stuck in the house watching games on sunday Not everyone is athletic. I'm not and our son isn't; but my husband and daughter are. Keep exercising to stay in shape, you obviously are talented in other areas. You are not going nowhere. Don't even think it. When that thought comes into your mind, kick it out! Do what you like. Competitive sports aren't necessary, as long as your getting some regular exercise. It sounds like you have some creative interests. Follow your heart and do what you're good at. I think you're doing great. The problem with high school is that coaches give one the impression that if you don't do team sports, you aren't really exercising, which most certainly isn't true. Your body is a piece of machinery and you do need to exercise, but why not take up some individual sport, such as running, yoga, fencing, weightlifting ,dancing etc... Right now I think you have enough activity, but when you get out of school, you might want to take some classes. You sound pretty well-rounded and I think you could very well go somewhere. What are you doing with all of your interest in art? Have you considered writing scripts and directing? Would you be interested in film school? Check out NYU's film program. They have summer classes. By the way, if you lived in New York City, you would always be walking and would get great exercise. |
