Why do a lot of Istock places require people to be 18 or over to sell stuff on there ?

Well , I've been into photography for about 6 months or so , and I decided to try to earn some money to by a DSLR , because I'm currently using a Nikon Coolpix . So my question is why do you have to be 18 or over to have a istock account , because i'm 16 . Are there any stock photo places that allow people that are 16 to sell stuff ? I all ready have a redbubble account .

If you want to see my pics here they are :

Thank you :)

Excellent answers.

Can I offer a tip?

Try to have your pics tell a story.

You'll sell more if your images illustrate emotions or depict situations.

For example, your Julie pics are great but shoot one with her eye open wide in terror, one with a tear rolling down, one squinting in suspicion, etc.

Can you see how these could illustrate many kinds of stories or articles?

Your hand squeezing the clock pic is a good example. It would be perfect for illustrating a story on how people's lives are so jammed full it's driving them nuts.

Here's another example: shoot a picture of a handshake between a pinstriped white banker and a black man in a ragged African shirt.

All you need to see are the hands and the sleeves. Can you see how this could dramatically illustrate any of the thousands of articles on forgiving Third World Debt?

Whenever you shoot, think about who might want your image and for what purpose they may use it.

Keep up the great work...just my 2 pesos.

You have to be an adult to enter into contacts .. that is it. You can always have your parents enter into it for you and submit your images until you are 18.

BTW, excellent work!

That is normal with commerce all over. You cannot enter into a contract without being 18 years or older.

b/c you have to be 18 or over to sign a contract. You have to sign a contract with them (agreeing to the terms and condition).
