What is the best way to get started with stock photography?

I'm looking to get started in stock photography but can't get accepted in any of the libraries. My photos are mostly of animals and plants/flowers. I am getting a lot of downloads in the free libraries, but can't get any of the paid libraries to accept my work. I see lots of work a lot less appealing than mine in these libraries. If anyyone can give some advice on how to get accepted and what photos would be best it would be appreciated.

Good question.

Assuming your pics are technically perfect, the reason you're getting rejected is that the stock houses are overflowing with animals, plants and flowers.

So, start shooting stuff they ain't got but people want.

For example, I hear that stock houses are crying out for images appealing to the Hispanic market.

I'm sure there are many other holes to be filled.

Just like anything else, success in photography is as much business sense as shooting skill. Good luck!
