Canon Xti rebel. Good replacement lens over stock? |
I was looking into getting the xti body only. I don't know anything about photography but I am looking for a nicer lens which allows me to take nicer pictures of my new born son. Perhaps a fixed lens? My budget is less than 200 for the new lens. Thanks. For under $200, your best bet is EF 50mm f/1.8 prime. It if fixed focal length but the photo quality is outstanding. Given your budget, you may want to go with the kit lenss until you can upgrade. As mentioned to 50mm fixed is also a good clear lense, but is very limited in it's usage. ( you become the zoom by moving forwards and backwards to make the image fit) Sigma makes an all around lenses 17-200mm that is designed for the rebel and other c-sized SLR. But it is a little more then 200.00 (around 300.00) after that I would go for the canon EF-S 17-85 IS because of the USM and Image Stabilization (around 500.00) |
