Make a living with submitting stock photography online?

Hi, I was wondering if you can make a living or at least a decent income off websites like http://www.shutterstock.com . Does anyone have an existing account that can point out the pros and cons? If you do, it will be nice to see your work. My travel photography is at http://www.ianstravels.com - please comment if my photos are good enough

If you've got the right shot, you can make a decent living off it. But the odds are against you.

You can pick up some extra money doing stock photography, but it will be a while before you will earn a decent income.
Oh yeah, they are very good. You really know your stuff.
Firstly, I LOVE your site. Kudos!

Secondly, here's my advice...

During my startup phase, I personally benefited from this site: http://tinyurl.com/2u6awe

It may not seem like much up front, but I gave it a shot. Since then, I've moved on to freelancing as a graphic designer and multimedia artist with a continuing interest in landscape photography.

Stock photography is a very open market where there's a lot of 'quantity' but not enough 'quality'.

I like your work and personally think you should funnel your work through qualified channels, for long-term benefits.

There IS money in this field. The key is to specialize before you diversify.
