What is stock photography/image source? |
what exactly are the pictures used for. ive been on several modeling calls for that and never quite knew what it was. imagesource.com it says it stock photography but what does that mean?!?! lol graphic artist, editors, publishers, advertising agencies et cetera all buy stock images if you signed a model release (if you didnt contact a lawyer) the shots could appear anywhere depends what the model release says a Source(s): pro fotog Stock photography in most cases is generic photos that are used in various forms from advertising to postcards. The agency that purchases the right to use that image can be in good good way or a bad way depending on how "you" see it. Example, a few years back a photographer got a model release from a wedding he did. This wedding was a governors daughter as the bride. Well the agency that purchased (actually rented) one of those images used it in an ad that said "Which one of these will be an alcoholic in the next 5 years?" The ad was pulled before it got out to the public. But in most cases the ad agency do not know who these people are (even if they have a model release). The problem is you really have no control how those images will be used by an ad agency and neither does the photographer.
