Video quality on youtube?

Why does video quality get lost on youtube. My vids look good on my computer, but on youtube not so great, i seen other vids on youtube with good quality, is it my camera, is there anything i can do? I don't use a camcorder, i use hp digital camera and make videos from that.

Compression and processing I think. I dont know if youtube has enough bandwidth/memory/or w/e to keep the original quality of the vids.

Its the same case for EVERY video hosting site anyway so going for another option wont work unless you want longer videos.

hp cameras dont work either.. i have an hp cam and it doesn't work when i upload the videos on youtube.. it's still very poor

idk..but i always used to get on youtube..but i had like 6 virises b/c of it!...sooo i had to stop goin on youtube!
