So..
If I buy a digital camcorder, not the Hard Drive ones, the one that records videos on tape (or casette). Not the old analogue types either.
Will I be able to transfer my videos onto a PC ? Like via USB, perhaps. Like transfering picture on a digital camera to PC. Or will my videos be on the tape only, and then I have to, somehow, put it on DVD and then use it on PC

Please please help Most all, except the absolute cheepest, all use USB2 by now and many also are set up for firewire. youre talking about a minidv camera. yes you can transfer it to your computer, through usb or firewire. but it is several gb for a few minutes, so prefrerably you have lots of defragmented room on your pc and you use firewire. when you transfer to your computer, it wont be as a video file, but more as just data, so you will need a program such as windows movie maker to import it into your computer. then you can edit and do whatever. if you dont have movie maker, buy adobe premiere elements for around $100. it is a program that will help you easily import and export your video. i recommend a something in the pv-gs series. they have anything from beginner cams to amateur filmmaker cams. im getting a pv-gs400 in july to make movies with. anyways i hope this helps! |
