Which laptop on the market is best for use with artwork and photo editing? |
i am wanting to buy a new laptop to use with digital camera photos and graphic art work. Almost 100 percent of professional graphic art work is done on Apple Macintosh computers. They sell two lines of great laptop computers. The iBook is designed more for personal/home use. The PowerBook is designed for the professional graphic artists. Both are great options but the iBook is significantly less expensive. dell branded I would get a Mac ... current generation with Adobe CS suite. Most every graphic artist uses a Mac. anything related to imaging the best bet would be the MAC. Else it all depends on what is the size of images you antcipate working with and the software you want to use with. Based on this decide your configuration. Ideally Most artists seem to prefer macs so maybe they would be a good choice. I use an HP Pavilion laptop running Suse Linux for photo editing and have wonderful results, but of course you'd have to learn linux. Windows is good for editing too, but the software costs tons of money. Macs are usually associated with great art/graphic design. I'd stick to one of those. But mostly, its about using the correct programs. Adobe Photoshop (the real version) isn't cheap, but it offers a ton of options. oh, and make sure to get one that can handle graphics! It'll have to be fairly souped up to handle graphics cause they are usually big files and big programs that take up a ton of space on your computer. Dell brand with 256MB DDRAM go for MAC powerbook hp heloo I would tend to agree with the rest that a Mac, given the choice would seem to be preferred by those in the business world of graphic design. However without the proper software no computer is of much use. Also it's what's inside your computer, Hard drive size, RAM, processor? Remember that Graphics are space hogs, doesn't take long to feel the effects on an overwhelmed less technoly advanced system. Latest out is 2Gig RAM with dual processors and that will soon be the benchmark, for another 90 days anyway... MAC, hands down |
