If I went on holiday and used my digital camera with the photos going onto a SD card, rather than taking 2 pictures of everything to have a backup, is there anything i can buy that will take a SD card and transfer the files to another SD card. this way if i had a problem with my original card i would not lose all of my pictures. they have portable back ups

Here's my recommendation: With prices dropping, get several SD cards. I recently went on a two week vacation to China and brought six 2 mp CF cards for my camera. It's a good idea to have several smaller cards and to switch off periodically. That way, you won't be "putting all your eggs in one basket" and have spread out your images. Keep the cards not being used in a secure memory card holder.
