I'm tryin to scan pictures but i'm havin promblems can anyony help?

Every time i click on scan it keeps sayin Epson scan cannot be started.
please use the trouble shootingassistant to solve the problem.
Do you want to open the troubleshooting assistant? I've never used a scanner before so can you please explain it in terms that i can understand and no i'm not computer iliterate i just normally use a digital camera but i like the pictures that i have and i really want them scanned. PLEASE HELP!!

its not a USB it looks like a plug at the end of it.

try restarting comp and scanner...this has helped me many times

A scanner is like a colour photocopier.

It sounds like your scanner drivers are missing OR the scanner is not plugged in and connected (USB?) to your PC.

Read the manual that came with the scanner. Follow the instructions to install it using the CD that came with it.

If you still have problems, call Epson or the store where purchased..

There should be 2 wires connected to your scanner. One goes to a wall outlet or power strip. This one is the power for the scanner. The other wire connects the scanner to the computer. It is likely a USB connection that either goes straight to the computer or to a router. Otherwise it's an old scanner with a large rectangular plug with about 50 connections on it.

In either case, if you have only a wall plug connected to the scanner ... something's missing and the scanner isn't communicating with the computer.
