I last used my digital camera on the night of Thu 28 June, ahowever,I just turned my camera on there just now,and absolutely everything has been deleted or lost. Now,I locked everything on my camera,so does anyone know if its formatted itself, its a fault with the memory card or is there anyway whatsoever I can retrieve any of my photos.I am absolutely desperate to get even some of them back......
Thanks!!!1 Take the memory card out of your camera and put it in a card reader. There may be one on your computer or you printer. If not you can buy one for under $20.
Plug the memory card into the reader and wait until your computer "sees" the card. Using your computer skills open the files on the card and see if you have some image files.
If you see images then your camera is not seeing the card properly. If there are no files, then something catastrophic happened to your camera and card.
There are recovery programs that are freeware and you can run one of those with your card attached in a reader via a USB port. I will take a long time however for it to recover any files that may be on the card.
NOTE: If you are in the habit of erasing individual images or groups of images on your camera, you are running the risk of corrupting the image index file that keeps track of the images stored on the card.
Are you faithfully formatting the card using the cameras format feature after every time you copy your images from the camera to you computer?
Here is why you may want to start doing that if you don't already. First of all it refreshes the card and secondly and perhaps the most important, it writes a fresh image index file. |
