Can you use a 1 GB memory card in a camera that says up to 512 mb? |
I bought a digital camera (alos video and MP3) on Ebay - a Vu-Point. It says use up to a 512 MB card. What will happen if I use a 1 or 2 GB ( SD card) I've never had this problem with a still camera, but I did with a camcorder. It was given to me for Christmas, along with a 2 GB memory card. It wouldn't work and the manual was no help. I called Canon and, with some effort, discovered that the camcorder was only tested with cards up to 512 MB. I bought a new card and it worked fine. First make sure it would even fit! (size-wise) mb and GB are different measures. 1024 kb = 1 mb, 1024 mb= 1 GB... Wouldnt hurt to try, but I wouldn't expect it to. The actual size of the memory cards are the same. it either won't work Its the amount of memory your card has ! |
