My Camera Won't Accept some memory cards?

I own a digital camera and it's a Konica Minolta Dimage E40. 4.0 Mega pixels 3x optical zoom. The memory card that was in it was only 16MB, so I asked my dad to get me another one that was 1GB. He got one from Kodak (SD Card 1GB), and it fits in the camera, but when I turn it on, the camera screen says "this card can not be used". The card that DOES work (the 16MB) is from Toshiba (SD 16MB SD Memory Card).

Does anyone know anything that I can do? Any Suggestions?

I checked with Konica-Minolta (now owned by Sony) and found that SD memory card can be used on the E40 but only up to 512MB.

You will have to take the card back and get a smaller one.

This camera does not support MultiMediaCard.

Sometimes, the camera is too old and the memory stick is too old.

sorry but is wont work maybe your camera support 256mb maybe 128mb 1gb is new for new cammeras and yours is too old and t wont support you should have to buy an new cammera
