Are there any digital cameras that you can plug directly into your computer, using a USB wire?

i just wanna plug a digital camera right into my ibook and and upload my photos, and not have to deal with a printer/scanner and all that.

A majority of the cameras on the market today have a USB/Firewire port built in. They usually use a 4-pin or 5-pin mini port on the camera and a full-sized port for the computer. I haven't seen a recent camera that doesn't have it (unless it has firewire, which is rare).

Pretty much any camera you buy now will have that feature. Try, for example, the Canon Powershot SD series. Check the specifications of the cameras you're interested in. Some now have the option to use firewire as well, which is an option for you since you have an iBook. Firewire is faster than USB.

i would say 99% digital camera comes with USB out put include USB wire to connect to your PC

If your refering to downloading your images that you've recently shot, every digicam comes with usb cables...

If you refering to "tether" shooting (shooting directly into your computer) then just the DSLR's can do it (as long as you have the appropriate software active)

99.9% of the cameras do that.
Actually, I don't know any that doesn't do what you want.
