Transfer camera to computer using s-video cable?

My digital camera has a s-video output and my computer has a video card nvidia with an s-video thing. Problem is, I don't know whether I can transfer video from my camera to the outlet of my video card. I connected them but it doesn't recognize anything. It's like my card's outlet is an out and not an "in". Some help?

Yeah, chances are your video card s-video connector is an output, not an input. You can get any TV-capture device and it should support s-video. Personally, I swear by ATI All-in-wonder cards, but any PCI video capture card will do the trick.

S-video is not a digital connection. It is analog. For the best quality, you would use firewire or USB. Are you sure your camera doesn't use a USB connection?
