How can I solve the problem of connecting camera to my pc?

I have a sony digital camera. When I connected my camera to the pc using the USB port, an error msg is displayed as "USB cable not recognized". I want to transfer my pictures to my pc. I tried connecting it properly. But in vain. Pls help.

Have you ever done it successfully on that particular pc before? If not, you will have to install the driver/software that has come along with the camers.

Chech whether yu have powered on the camera, try installing the USB drivers, if still does n't work ,Try changing the USB cable or try same USB cable with some other camera.

Sounds to me that your usb hub drivers are not present or corrupt.. or a bad cable either way do a PC audit and check all the hdw/ soft/ and firmware by running the tool below its a complete PC audit/ inventory tool that is very easily understood... Why Guess?

you may have a bad usb cable or a bad usb port. or you just may have to install the camera software before hooking up the camera it should have come with a disc

just install the camera's software or if you have a card reader remove the memory stick from your camera the put it in the card reader.,
