Taking close up pictures using a Kodak Z740 camera?

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z740 Digital camera. It works great most of the time, but I find that if I try to take a close up picture of a flower, everything seems to be blury. I have a try pod that I use as well. There probably is a way to correct this so I am open to suggestions.
Thanks for any help.

Peter

First thing, check to see that you have set Macro mode on the camera before taking a closeup. (The icon usually looks like a little flower.)

Macro mode expands the focus range to allow very closeup framing. Without it you are too close for the lens to focus.

Good Luck
