Are major movies today still made on film or with high definition digital movie cameras?

I know that many portions of movies are made using digital special effects, but are the movies then transferred to film, or are the movies filmed then transferred back to digital video?

If your talkin about the movies the teachers put on in class yes they do make them still and they r so boring

Most feature films are still being shot on 35mm. There are a few major features that were shot on HD (Michael Mann had Collateral and Miami Vice shot that way) but the vast majority are not. As far as effects go, they're generated digitally, then combined with the original elements and output to film during the compositing process.

they don`t use film cameras because digital camera are more efficint...and they save money:))

YES MANY MAJOR FILMS ARE BEING MADE ON HIGH DEFINITION DIGITAL MOVIE CAMERAS

it is done on film. cut and edited with whatever special effects they want to put in. then allocated to digital. then the master for DVD is edited. the DVD can sit and wait for production up to a year. it also depends on the production facility as well. digital is more expensive with all the storage that will be needed for so much data. 'cgi' is very expensive to use.

Well whatever they make it on , I just want to see some good quality stuff.
