I want to buy a camera & found this one. Does anyone know if it's a good one (batterie, MP etc)?

Sony Cyber-shot 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera
I would mostly use it for travel and family/friends pictures nothing out of the ordinary.

I think DSC-W55 is the number.
Does anyone know what kind of memory cards this one uses? I have from my old one those SD(?) cards, would they work?

it's the second or third question i answered today on this great camera .......go for it ...it has great users reviews .
and about the memory card ...ur SD card wont work with it ...coz it's Sony and Sony cameras support the ((Sony memory stick due or the pro due)) .

for normal pics 7 mp is very nice
and as long as it has a rechargabel battery it is very good

You didn't specify the model number, but Sony point-and-shoot cameras are all basically the same, except that some have better lenses, larger image sensors (megapixels), larger viewing screens on the back, slimmer cases, etc. Sonys take great pictures, the built-in image processor tends to make images pleasing to the eye.

Have one, and I love it. This camera is one of the easier ones to use and still get professional looking pictures. You just set the automatic focus and shoot the picture. I bought a complete kit with extras new from an eBay seller, and paid $100 more, and got two more lenses, tripods, batteries and charger, memory stick, storage bag, and a cleaning kit. This is the second Sony camera that I have owned.

I have the Sony W100 it's very similar to the W55, well all the W series are very similar, the only differance is the number of pixels..

The W55 works really nice... It has lot's of features and great video quality...SUPERB battery life ... mine is great...
so go with it .... also all my friends envy my camera because of the ISO options.. you can take photos w/out flash and the pictures come out great!!!!!!! try it.. youll like it

The Sony W- series, don't use the previous sony memory cards, before it was memory sticks now with the w series sony opted to go with the ''memory stick PRO DUO'' they are diferent card.. this are smaller... and I think they are about the same price I got a 1GB SanDIsk MEORY STICK PRO DUO on ebay for 15.00 new!!! so check ebay out for this cards..!!! if not you can get them aat any camera store for like 80.00- 100..00
