What are good programs for resizing pictures?

When using digital camera I use biggest numbers resolution2200 something. But for sending in email or uploading to website takes forever. I need to make way smaller- How does older generation person with no training do resizing? and are jpeg and jpg pictures the same?

Might suggest coming down on res, and see what res you can live with.

Are several photo programs, most are personal preference, am in the graphic business and use about 4 different ones.

Just remember the higher the res, the more time it take to upload and download.

Don't believe there is any difference in jpeg and jpg.

Nothing is better than Photoshop, but if you want a program that doesn't cost $799, try using the GIMP! It's Free! http://www.gimp.org/

if you only want to resize a few use this online tool

Jpeg and jpg are basically the same thing, but some websites only accept jpg.

As for resizing, you can use MSPaint (installed on most windows systems as "Paint").

I have had good luck with Irfanview.

Photo Shop or microsoft photo editor
