Can I use a higher memory card than my camera recommends?

My Vivitar digital camera says I should use a 256mb memory card. However, a friend has a 512mb card I can borrow. Can I use the 512mb without any problems (and just get the same amount of pictures as a 256mb, I presume)?

Thanks!

You would have to try the card, while some cameras will take cards higher than what they recommend on the box, due to the backwards compatability of some newer made memory cards, there happens to be a limit for all cameras. While you may be able to try the 512 card, it is almost certain that you would not be able to use a 4gb card for example.

Give it a try and find out!

yes u can you will actually get mroe picturees

yes you can use it it doesenbt matter

Yes, you can.. I have a 2 GB one..
No problems at all..
