not expensive, big LCD screen (3"inch), 6 megapixel and above, easy to use!...any tips on what model or brand? There are fewer numbers of cameras with 3" LCDs, so that limits your selection.
We don't know how much "not expensive" is for you. You need to determine how much you want to spend.
I think there are also some important other factors to consider:
. The camera should feel comfortable to use. Do you like the weight, shape, grip? Can you see clearly through the viewfinder/LCD when taking a pic?
. The image quality should be satisfactory. (Megapixel size does not tell you this.) Do you like the sharpness, color intensity, noise level?
. Does the capability fit the type if pics you take? Is it good at sports/action, portrait, night time, flash, landscape, far away?
For a general recommendation, I suggest the ultra-zoom class (Canon S3, Sony H2/H5, Panasonic FZ7/FZ30) at $350 to $450. All have great flexibility and performance (but only the Sony has a 3" LCD).
But these may be too big or whatever for you. So you need to go to a good camera store and take some test shots, and see how you like them.
Good Luck Check out the Canon Powershot and SD Series. Also, Nikon makes a lot of good small inexpensive digital in the LS series.
But, don't expect to get very much for under $400 without a very long shutter lag, which is very annoying.
